Vulcatherm ceramic infra-red emitters comprise an electric heating element sealed within a glazed ceramic to produce a highly efficient, energy-saving infra-red heat source.

Long wave ceramic infrared emitters produce no visible light thus often an illusion is created that no heat is emitted. These heaters are used in very specific applications, particularly where high content of carbon is present, eg. plastics.

Emitters are mostly concave in shape with varying sizes being available. To measure the temperature of these emitters a type ‘K’ thermocouple is inserted into the heater. Heating arrays complete with reflectors can be manufactured according to customer specifications.
